Kathy Kennedy

Kathy has enjoyed working with colorful fabrics since her mother taught her to sew when she was a teen. She has been sewing all her life but always wanted to make quilts. She didn't have any old family quilts, but she was always drawn to them, amazed by the tiny hand stitches, imagining what the quilter was thinking or experiencing as she stitched.
She made a bed size quilt on her home sewing machine many years ago and realized how time consuming this hobby was. Being a working mother with two children, she told herself that when she retired she would make quilts! After she retired she made several quilts for friends and family and began to sell quilts as well as take on commission work. She also creates quilts using her husband, artist Ira Kennedy's fabric panels. But creating art quilts is her number one favorite method of working with fabrics.
