Cindy Cherrington
My passion for glass art has blossomed into a thrilling and fulfilling career! What began with just one small kiln has now expanded into four, fueling my creative journey like never before. For about fourteen magical years, I have poured my heart and soul into creating stunning landscape glass panels. Using powdered, crushed, and meticulously cut pieces of glass, I transform these raw materials into exquisite art.
Through a mesmerizing process of layering and firing, I breathe life into cold, hard glass, imbuing it with depth and texture that captivates the senses. Each piece is a labor of love, requiring multiple firings and layers to achieve the perfect harmony of elements. The technique of "tack fusing" allows me to create a beautiful texture while bonding the glass elements together, resulting in works of art that are both visually and tactilely enchanting.
This intricate process can take days, even weeks, to complete, but the outcome is always worth the wait. My surroundings in Texas, particularly the vibrant wildflowers that blanket the fields in spring, serve as a boundless source of inspiration. There is nothing more majestic than the sight of towering trees amid a sea of colorful wildflowers, and I strive to capture that beauty in every piece I create. Being a full-time artist has truly been a dream come true, filling my life with boundless joy and creative fulfillment.
