Alexandra Dibrell
Alexandra grew up in East Texas, among the red dirt, wisteria vines and pine trees. Inspired by her mom, who practiced photography as a hobby, she was always taking pictures. While attending the University of Texas at Austin, a malfunction with her Pentax K1000 resulted in a double exposure and she liked the "error". Replicating and refining that process has been her primary focus ever since. Almost all her photos are double exposures produced on film and inside the camera, the only digital manipulation used is for color adjustment. "I like making something normal and familiar look a little bit odd and otherworldly," she says of her art.
